When do you ship?
Once your order has arrived from the supplier it is shipped out within 48 hours a trackable service.
A lot of the products are not freely available in Japan and longer lead times are common on custom made parts. See Product Groups for more information.

How long has it been since you placed your order? 95% of the parts we sell are shipped from Japan, we have shipments leaving daily.
A lot of the parts we sell are made to order, they aren't available off the shelf in Japan. In the unlikely event you will be waiting more than 35 days for your order you will be contacted either via email or your order status will be updated. You can view your order status
An item is missing from my consignment
It may be that your order had to ship incomplete due to a delay on the other parts. Don't worry, we haven't forgotten about you :)

How long until my backorder arrives?
Some backordered items have an ETA, track your order and the ETA
will be listed by the product listing.
Items that are made to order sometimes carry extensive lead times as manufacturers will not process an order until they have 3 orders for one item. It is never cost effective to make one of anything.
Do I need an account to place an order?
If you do have an account with us you can earn reward points which can be used as discount against future orders. It also speeds things up if you shop with us again though.

How much is shipping?
Shipping in calculated depending on the item. Cost including shipping is shown with every item for your reference so there are
no shocks at the checkout!

How do I return my product?
Email us stating your order number (starts with VTD) and reason for return, return for refund will be allowed only within 7 calendar days from receipt of goods and carry a 20% restocking charge. All of the items we sell are bought to order, by you cancelling it leaves VTEC Direct out of pocket and incurring fees for credit card payment, stock and carriage.
I received the wrong product?
If you have received the wrong product, please contact customer service within 24 hours of receiving the product. You can do this via
Failure to report an error within 24 hours may mean we cannot accept the product back without a 20% restocking fee.
What happens if I cancel?
99% of the items listed on this website are bought to order from either Japan or the USA - basically "special order". You have a 7 day "cooling off period" from
date of order to cancel the item. This is your right under the distance selling act. Once this 7 day period has ended ALL cancelled orders
carry a 20% restocking/cancellation fee.
This is to protect our interests - it is not different to ordering a special order item from your local Honda dealer.
What is your returns policy?
Goods are supplied under the manufacturer’s warranty ONLY. VTECdirect limited will honour any claim for defects in material or workmanship placed with us up to one week from the delivery date. After this period please contact the manufacturer. Please be aware that return of faulty goods may be to Japan, and may be at the customer’s expense, dependant on the terms and conditions of the manufacturer concerned.
Return for refund will be allowed only within 7 calendar days from receipt of goods.
All refunds are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Full refunds are at our descretion.
All packaging, documentation, warranty cards, instructions and goods have to be returned.
All authorised returns must be unused and in it's original saleable packaging.
Your Invoice and/or Packing list must also be returned.
All returns must be sent Prepaid - no collect shipments will be accepted. It is your responsibility to return parts for it's full value to
protect yourself against loss with the carrier. If any returns are sent to us as receiver pays these costs + 10% will be charged against your card.
No return or exchange on merchandise that shows signs of having been installed, modified, or painted.
We are unable to offer refunds on shipping charges.

We don't work from RRP backwards, we work our selling prices on cost price so some ranges will have greater discounts than others.
Please do not ask for more discount - we run promotions such as 10% off weekend, and great deals on great brands such as Mugen, Spoon, J's Racing, Project Mu etc. If an order is of a large scale then we can negotiate a price.

Are these products suitable for road use?
All parts, except those that are exempt, have been designed and are intended for off-road use only.
These components are legal for racing vehicles only, which may never be used on roads or public highways.
What are product shipping groups?
Product shipping groups are shown to inform you of what type of product the item is.
Some manufacturers don't stock any parts for sale, only have display stock. It is not uncommon for small tuning shops to make products per order.
Groups are as follows:
Group A: Item likely to be in stock with manufacturer in Japan so leadtime from order to arrival at the Japanese office up to 7 Days.
Group B: Item is known to be out of stock occasionally with manufacturer in Japan. Usual leadtime from order to arrival at the Japanese office up to 21 Days.
Group C: Item is not a stock item with the manufacturer in Japan and maybe made to order. Usual leadtime from order to arrival at the Japanese office up to 35 Days.
Group D: Item is custom made to order by the manufacturer in Japan so leadtime from order to arrival at the Japanese office is usually up to 50 Days.
Group E: Item is very difficult to source due to rarity and small demand in Japan. Leadtime from order to arrival at the Japanese office is usually up to 65 Days.
Group F: Item is sourced in the UK - some delays may occur for out of stock items.
Group G: Item is sourced in the US - some delays may occur for out of stock items.
Group H: Item is stocked in the UK as well as Japan - Fast turnaround if stock available. Email to confirm.
The leadtimes above are just for reference, shipping times from Japan to the UK vary with item size and weight.
